This weekend it was the first round of the annual indoor championship The Middle Swedish Cup. The venue was the classic track at Bofors, 2hrs west from Stockholm. The controlled tyre is Sorex 28, XG-28RY, and the quali system is best time out of 3 rounds. The track is narrow and has a tight layout. The traction is not very high either. The Modified class had some strong entries with for example XRAY driver Alexander Hagberg making a guest apperance in the series. Niclas Nilsson, whom just come from a victory in the SSIC (South Swedish Cup) with his T4. Also fast T4 driver Niklas Johansson and Yokomos Daniel Carlsson among others was attending.

There was no free practise on friday and only 2 controlled practice heats on saturday morning but my car felt pretty good from the start. Since the traction is low I built my car for the race with a softer and more easy to drive setup. Pretty standard overall really. It may have been a little loose in the rear but it was smooth and had good rotation.
Q1 was pretty tight with only .5 seconds seperating me and Alexander and with me being infront. Niclas N and Niklas J was a few seconds behind in 3rd and 4th. In Q2 i only got around 2 laps before coming together with a backmarker going out on the main straight, ending my Q2 chances. With traction getting better and better for each round i had my Q1 time beaten in Q2 and had to start at P4 in Q3. Still i took overall TQ with just under a second in front of Alexander, Niclas N and Niklas J a few seconds behind.
The first two finals was clean and i could open up a good gap and could maintain around 1-3 seconds of a gap to Alexander and taking the wins in F1 and F2. I did not change the car for F1 and F2 since the pace was good and didn't have to push it. For F3 I tested to use more flex but this made for more understeer and Alexander could keep up closer and it was a very tight finish with only a few .01's between but with me in front.
In the end the quali positions was the final result for the A-main with all drivers finished where they started. 6 out of 8 cars in the final was XRAY T4's.
